Cam Shaw - New Diploma of Turfgrass Management Director
Overview:
Cameron Shaw has been appointed as the new Program Manager of the Associate Diploma in Turfgrass Management (ADTM). He started this position at the end of October.
For the past three years Cam has been excelling in the role of Communications and Outreach Coordinator for the Guelph Turfgrass Institute. Cam is a graduate of the ADTM program himself (in addition to holding a BA in Geography), and in recent years has also been the instructor for DTM*1500, Turf Communications. He brings with him over 20 years of professional experience in the turfgrass industry, and a unique and compelling vision for the future of the ADTM.
Cam replaces Steve Fleischauer in the role. Steve retires from the University at the end of this year, after a stellar career including more than four years successfully leading this program and inspiring the next generation of turfgrass managers. It should be noted that Steve postponed his retirement date to help the department with this transition in program leadership during such a challenging time. As always in the past, Steve stepped up and helped out. We would miss him if he were leaving, but he is not – Steve will stay on as a sessional instructor in the program.
Please congratulate both Cam and Steve. Our department’s strength is of course in its people, and people don’t come any better than these two.
