The fruit growers in Niagara are giving the benefit of their experience to the evaluation of selections from the peach breeding program, directed by Jay Subramanian and assisted by Glen Alm, at the Vineland Research station. They are examining and tasting samples of picked fruit and looking at the trees in the orchard on a weekly basis during the peach crop season , which has just started.

There are some exciting new selections, that are early maturing with excellent fruit characteristics, and some novelties, like the white-fleshed peaches,  to discover.
