Meaghan Grguric, a graduate student with the Department of Plant Agriculture has been featured in an article on CBC.ca entitled Giant hogweed: why we can't stop the spread of a toxic plant. Meaghan's research "is part of a wider war to stop the invasive weed, being waged in test plots, wild areas and even backyards across Southern Ontario."
Giant Hogweed is an invasive weed, that can burn or scar people who come into contact with it. It has the potential to spread and grow rapidly, along streams, roadsides and ditches.
